So...We're MARRIED!! and went on a cruise

So as I wrote about earlier, we got engaged.  We set a date for November 12th and the 3 month engagement went by super fast, at times, and before I knew it I was on a plane bound for AZ a week before the wedding.  I met up in PHX with my mom, dad, sister Sandi and her two adorable kids Cale and Brooke.  The day after I got there we did a little shopping and got things ready to go.  We headed down to Safford and the next day had my amazing bridal shower, set up by my wonderful sisters.  It was so much fun to see everyone, but I wish I could have spent more time with all the great people that showed up for it.  My family and I spent the next week setting up and getting the final details arranged for the reception.  On Wed. November 10th, Kyle flew in and we rushed to the courthouse to get our marriage license (we were super nervous about getting that in time).  Everything worked out and we were set.  The next day Kyle's family flew in, and his grandparents and Aunt Margarita and her family came down for the rehearsal dinner.  The dinner was held at Tia Rosa's in Mesa, and it was amazing!  We had great food and even better company.  All my family was there and it was so fun to see everyone and just relax.  After we were all done, we went our separate ways and the countdown began!
FRIDAY arrived bright and early for us.  I got to Kyle's hotel at 6am, to have his amazing sister Shannon do my hair.  Kyle and I were kept separate, so I didn't see him until he arrived at the temple.  We were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, AZ temple at 9:00am, with a good chunk of our family and friends there to witness it.  IT was an incredible experience and we were so excited.  After the wedding we met outside for a lot of pics with Yellow Skinny and our videographer Kale.  We had a blast with them.  At noon we headed down to the reception in Safford.  It turned out better than I could have imagined.  Our cake was beautiful, the back yard looked amazing, and the weather stayed pretty amazing for November...it got a little chilly towards the end, but for the most part perfect.  I am so grateful to have had that, my family is amazing! It was a long day but, it was a day I will never forget!

Right after we got hitched!

Best coconut ever!
The next day Kyle and I traveled.  On our first flight Kyle told me where we were going on our honeymoon.  Up until that time I had no idea, Kyle even packed the suitcase for me.  We had a layover in TX so on the way there he told me we were going on a cruise to the western Caribbean!  I was so excited.  We boarded the cruise on Sunday and spent the week, eating, snorkling, eating, swimming, eating, sleeping, eating, swimming with stingrays, eating, exploring Tulum, eating, seeing shows, eating, and eating.  It was an amazing experience.  We had so much fun, it was kind of hard to come back to reality but we needed to and we still had an open house to do in Utah.  Kyle's family did an amazing job and we had a beautiful open house in South Jordan.  In contrast to the sun we had just left, it started to snow in South Jordan that night and didn't stop for a few hours.  Kyle took me to the Little America in downtown SLC to spend the last night or our honeymoon there.  It was so much fun.  I have an amazing husband, seriously he treats me like a queen and I am so excited to spend forever with him!

Back rub anyone?

Engagement Pics!!!

It is getting closer!  Exactly one month from today Kyle and I will be gettin hitched in the Mesa, AZ temple!!  There are so many things to do to get ready for the big day, I can't keep track of it.  One of the things we have checked off our list is that of engagement pics!!!  Kyle and I had the best photographers ever!  We hired Yellow Skinny to do our wedding and they were coming up to Utah and offered to take our engagement pics.  It was so much fun and we loved the pics!
In other news Kyle's sister Mandy had her baby!  It was actually right after we took engagement pics so we went down to the hospital to see the little guy! He is sooo cute!  They named him Braiden Taylor Arthur.  We love him!  I am so excited to see him in his little orange tie for the wedding!

YAY!

Well I decided since Kyle and I are officially engaged it's time to jump on the blogging band wagon.  I guess we should start out by giving a bit of info of who we are, how we met, and all that fun junk that people don't really care about but sometimes would like to just know. :)
Kyle is from South Jordan, UT and returned a year ago from serving in the Atlanta, GA spanish speaking mission.  I decided to serve a mission as well, and was called to the SLC, UT Temple Square Mission.  I loved every part of it, but a very important part of my mission was when I was called to serve my outbound mission from temple square, to the Atlanta, GA mission.  This is where Kyle and I met, I know it's cliche, but we did and in our defense we weren't around eachother much in the mission, but we did apparently notice eachother.  When I returned back to Temple Square I served for a few more months and a week before I was to go home, Kyle came to visit me on the square.  We got in touch with each other thru facebook after the mission and began to text, and talk on the phone everyday.  I had made arrangements to go up to UT before Kyle and I started talking, for Halloween.  When Kyle found out I was coming up, he asked me on a date.  It was the first of many to come.  We carved jack-o-laterns with his family, made pizza, went to a haunted mansion, and watched one of our favorite movies "Iron Man".  About a month later I was offered a job in Utah, and I moved up the day after Thanksgiving.  Kyle and I began dating and in December he asked me to be his girlfriend.  We were together as much as possible until Kyle went up to school.  We made it thru a semester of long distance and weekend dating, thankfully, and then summer came.  All summer long we had so much fun boating, going to the zoo, camping, going to Park City and taking a trip down to AZ for Kyle to meet my family.

As the summer got closer to an end, we knew we didn't want to have to go thru another semester of being that far apart.  So I started looking for a job closer to where Kyle would be attending school up in Logan at USU.  I was able to find a job at a dental office in a small town right out out Logan called Brigham City.  I was so excited, especially because I had been wanting to start working in the dental field.  I got an apartment and my parents came up all the way from AZ to help move my belongings up.  They are the best and I love them.  It was during this time that Kyle and I started to look at rings.  So for about 3 months we did that.  I am not going to lie I started to get impatient wondering if it would ever happen!  Then it did and this is how the story goes:
Kyle's  mom, sister and I were going to pick up my new phone. Out of the blue my boyfriends sister says, “Hey Krista, my friend cancelled on me, we were supposed to go do something on Wednesday night, since I don’t work on Thursday. I was wondering if we could do like a girls night that night?” I am like yah! I got all ready for her to come up and she made it up around 6:30pm. We hop in her car and head up to Logan to check out a movie and pick up something to eat. We get done with every thing around 9:30pm. Now my boyfriend had just started a new job that required him to work until 8:30pm each night, and so we didn’t talk much until around that time. I had texted him and he didn’t respond, but I didn’t think much about it. We get back to my apartment around 10pm. I am so tired and her phone rings just as we get out of the car. It was her friend and she was hysterically crying over the phone. Her boyfriend had cheated on her, so Shannon asked if it would be ok if she sat out in her car and talked to her for a bit. I said sure and made my way up to my apt. I open the door and there are white rose petals all over the room and about 200 candles lit everywhere. On the coffee table is a lap top that says “click me” . So I walk thru the rose petal pathway and click the computer. Photos of our last years worth of dating start playing along with one of our favorite songs. I started to get teary eyed and at the end it said I love you. Then I hear Kyle say it and he comes walking out from the back room in a suit. He says he has a question for me and then he gets down on his knee and pulls out the ring and asks me to marry him. He had fondu waiting for us in the kitchen and after we were done we went to celebrate with his family, who had come up to help set up everything and celebrate with us! It was the best night, so far, of my life!
